Of course, make your reservation. Just google "redang island" and you can find a lot of resorts. Pelangi is good for budget plan. (I stayed there for 4 times) If you book earlier 3d2n is about RM300-RM400 depends on peak or non peak season. Or you may choose Laguna for a better stay. Range is about RM500-600 for 3d2n plan.
Firstly, you need fly to Kuala Lumpur internationla air port. You may choose Malaysia air lines or Air asia fly to Kuala Lumpur. Take note, if you choose other air lines or Malaysia air lines, you will be landed at Kuala Lumpur International Air Port (KLIA). If you choose Air Asia, you will be landed at Low Cost Courier Terminal (LCCT).
Try to arrive at Kuala Lumpur air port at night time. If you landed at KLIA, take a cab to Tune hotel, is about 20 min driving distance. Tune hotel just next to the LCCT. And the hotel to the LCCT is within walking distance. When you book the flight to Kuala Lumpur, take the Air Asia to Kuala Terengganu. And the Redang resort staff will pick you from the air port. Take a morning flight to Kuala Terengganu. That's why I recommended you stay a night at the tune hotel. Take a good rest before you go to the island.
When you reach Kuala Terengganu, they will pick you to the Merang Jetty. You need to take about 1 hour to reach the Redang Island. You can check the package, the agenda, price, date from here
